Legalities of a Medical Transcription Job

Today I learned about the legalities of a Medical Transcription Job Every single piece of paper I will create from the doctor’s voice file will become a legal document. As soon as I type it up, it’s a legal document. So there is a certain formatting it has to follow. There are guidelines set by the AAMT. There are certain abbreviations you can use and certain corrections you can make. There are tons of medical terms I have to know as well as the processes of the human body. We listened to a sample voice file. Wow. That was eye-opening. The doctor was talking and then got distracted and trailed off. Then the phone started ringing loudly, but he talked through it. He started eating his lunch while he was talking. It was very hard to hear! And the instructor said this was actually an average voice file.
