2010 USA Olympic women’s hockey team announced
On December 17, 2009 the 2010 Olympic women’s hockey team was unveiled. The team was selected from the 23 member 2009-10 U.S. National Team. Among the 21 players chosen were six repeating Olympians, 19 World Champions and 10 participants in the NCAA tournament.
The usa womens hockey team took gold in 1998, silver in 2002 and bronze in 2006. The team is hopeful to beat out Canada, a long time rival, which has taken gold in the last two Olympics and took silver in 1998. Finland is also a top contender winning bronze in 1998 and placing fourth in 2002 and 2006.
